The Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery, one of Italy's most celebrated collections of paintings, was founded in 1776 alongside the Accademia di Belle Arti for educational purposes. In fact it had to establish a collection of exemplary works for the training of students. Brera boasts fundamental works starting from Medieval Art up to the 20th Century. www.brera.beniculturali.it
